Here’s what happened this past week:

Hamilton, Ontario
Last weekend Hive Toronto had a Spy School Maker Party with the Boys and Girls Club of Hamilton in Hamilton, Ontario. Parents and children between 10 to 15 years old attended an afternoon of technology related activities, such as website design, computer hacking and forensics, fingerprinting, dealing with cyber bullying, green screen effects and many others. You can see the youth learning how create paper prototypes, learning how to crack the HTML code, learning how IP addresses can be used to identify bullies online, green screening and editing photos, and even website and app design.

Bangalore, India

Last weekend Hive India continued celebrating at their Maker Party throughout September 6-8th. Not only was the event a huge success but #MakerParty and #HiveIndia were trending in India during the event. Want some proof? Look here. You can find all the makes from the weekend here but we particularly like this make that gives a bit of background on the maker and celebrates India at the same time. Check out this recap blog from one of the organizers Umesh and all of the pictures from the event here.

Surabaya, Indonesia
This week we saw a fantastic Maker Party 2013 in Surabaya, Indonesia. Attendees experienced six mini workshops from local mentors & communities on how to create on the web using Mozilla Webmaker tools. Here are some great pictures that take you through the whole day. You can view all of the very many makes here, but enjoy this very minion poster make and a scuba diving photo album make. The event was even featured in Jawa Pos newspaper this week, which is the most famous newspaper in Surabaya! You can also find articles and pictures on the Surabaya Government website.
